As you should have already guessed my name is Stefano and I’m currently 33 years old.
I have a great passion for computer science since childhood… it started when my father gave me my very first computer (an IBM compatible PC with a CPU Intel 80386) at the age of 6.
Following this passion I got both a Bachelor (2008) and a Master of science (2010) in Computer Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano. During my studies I developed a particular interest for the fields of unix like operating systems (Linux an Mac OS X mostly), artificial intelligence and mobile development.
My Bachelor thesis regarded Databases and Wireless Sensor Networks, in particular the design and development of the expression engine for the PERLA query language (Supervisor: Prof. Fabio A. Schreiber). My Master thesis, instead, regarded the cloud computing: more precisely was on “Multi time scales capacity allocation and load redirect techniques and algorithms for Cloud Systems and Large Service Centers” (Supervisor: PhD. Danilo Ardagna).
3 months before graduating (Master of Science degree), in January 2011, I’ve been hired by Hewlett-Packard and started working for them as a software engineer using many different technologies (SAS, Java EE, Cobol, SQL, DB2 and Oracle). Two years later, in February 2013, I quitted my job at HP in order to move to France (more precisely in Antibes, between Nice and Cannes), where I’m still living, and started working (still as a software engineer) for Amadeus: a company developing booking tools , mostly B2B but recently also B2C.
In my private life I’m both a geek and a nerd (and proud of it). I do have a big passion for technology, software development and science (I’m a passionate reader of Scientific American and Astronomy now)… in particular astronomy (I’ve a couple of telescopes and I love spending nights stargazing). I’ve also many frivolous yet extremely entertaining interests like gaming (I own pretty much every console: Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, Wii U, Nintendo DS and 3DS), science fiction (both literary and film) and comics (mostly DC comic and various Mangas).
And for last but not least I’m engaged in a 11 years long relationship with my girlfriend Giulia.
